This hunting lease is a side hill with a lot of slope (see TOPO). So if you dont like hunting hill-please pass on this property. This hunting lease is located in WMU (8P) and close to Cohocton.The north part of property the property the slope decreases. The elevation goes uphill from the south. The break down is 39 acres of woods/golden rod and a 7-acre working crop field in the NW corner (corn 2024 and its cut). The golden rod has scattered apple trees and pines. The pines are great trees for ladder stands. There are several brush-hogged trails on the north part of property. Plenty of deer sign! Landowner has also seen bear and turkey. I jumped deer on the access road and in the golden rod. This lease is in one of the best counties in NYS for big, racked bucks! Make sure you check out the access that is in the east onto the property. ATV use is allowed for hunting purposes only. I recommend you post the property-landowner will allow. No camping. The main woods have at least 3 major game trails running east and west. I left 2 waypoints on these trails (see TOPO). I also left a waypoint on a scrape with rubs and beds nearby. Great stand location. My ATV wouldn't start so had to walk this property. The deer drag will be all downhill! If you are not afraid to make the climb you should have a great opportunity to shoot a nice buck and see lots of deer! I don't get many hunting leases that come available in Steuben County- it will lease fast!
